＊Things to avoid

(If you fail to follow these precautions, your present symptoms may worsen, or side effects may occur more readily.) 

1. This product should not be used by the following persons:

(1) Persons who have had an allergic reaction (for example, rash/reddening, itching, swelling of throat, eyelid, lip and such) to H2 blockers including famotidine 

(2) Persons who are being treated for the following diseases or receiving the administration of the following pharmaceuticals at medical institutions

Blood diseases, kidney or liver diseases, heart diseases, diseases of the stomach or duodenum, diseases of the immune system including asthma and rheumatism, steroids, antibiotics, anticancer agents, azole antifungals (decrease in white blood cells, decrease in platelets and other reactions may occur.) (If you have a kidney or liver disease, excretion of the drug may be delayed and its action may therefore become stronger.)

(If you have a heart disease, for example, myocardial infarction, valvular heart disease and cardiomyopathy, disturbance of pulse accompanied by abnormal ECG may occur.) 

(Because famotidine or similar drugs are likely to be prescribed for people who are being treated for diseases of the stomach or duodenum, attention should be paid to overlap of medication.)

(Absorption of azole antifungals may be reduced and their effect may therefore become weaker.)

(3) Persons who have been indicated by doctor to have a blood abnormality such as a low red blood cell count (anemia), low platelet count (difficulty in stopping bleeding or easy to bleed) or low white blood cell count (This product may trigger the recurrence of blood abnormalities.) 

(4) Children (aged under 15 years) and elderly people (aged 80 years or over) 

(5) Women who are pregnant or considered to be pregnant not use the following medicines while taking this product

3. Women who are breastfeeding should not take this product or should avoid breastfeeding if take it.

 The following persons should consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.

(1)  Persons who are treated by a doctor or persons taking other pharmaceuticals

(2)  Persons who have had allergic symptoms with medicines or such.

(3)  Elderly people (aged 65 years or over)

(In general, elderly people may have impaired physiological functions.)

(4)  Persons who have the following symptoms :

Sore throat, cough and high fever (Persons with these symptoms are suspected to have a serious infection and may have blood abnormalities including decreased blood cells. If there exist such symptoms before taking this product, they may be exacerbated by the administration of this product or detection of adverse reactions to this product may be delayed.), weight loss of unknown cause, persistent abdominal pain (Other diseases may be the cause.)

This product is a sugar-coated tablet. One tablet contains the following ingredients.

Ingredient: Famotidine

Quantity: 10 mg

Other ingredients: Dibasic calcium phosphate, cellulose, lactose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, corn starch, silicic acid anhydride, calcium stearate, saccharose, calcium lactate, macrogol, titanium oxide, talc, carnauba wax

Stomachache, stomach upset, heartburn, retching (This product contains an H2 blocker.) 

Take the following amount with cold or warm water when symptoms of stomachache, stomach upset, heartburn or retching occur.

Age: Adults (15 years or over, Under 80 years)

Amount per dose: 1 tablet

Daily dose: up to twice

＊Do not use for children (under 15 years old) or elderly people (80 years old or over).

・When the symptoms persist for 8 hours or longer after taking this product, take another tablet. 

・When the symptoms have resolved, stop taking it. ・If no improvement for the symptoms is observed after 3 days of use, discontinue use and consult a doctor or a pharmacist.

 ・Do not use for more than 2 weeks.

<Precautions related to Dosage and Administration>
